GOOD CLASS AT MARTON

With transport more difficult this year, the Marton Jockey Club's Summer Meeting will probably not be so well patronised from Wellington as usual, but there should nevertheless be. a large attendance of district enthusiasts and the club promises to share in the general totalisator increases. Very satisfactory fields have been secured for the first day's racing. The Marton Club has also gone back to win-and-place betting for this year's meeting. . There is no direct train service from Wellington tomorrow, but patrons from Paekakariki and intermediate stations are served by train leaving Paekakariki at 7.35 a.m. On the second day on Thursday Wellington racegoers may attend the meeting by the daylight Limited, leaving Wellington at 8.15 a.m. There-is a convenient return train to Wellington each day. FINE CUP FIELD. The main event tomorrow is the Marton Cup, and there is a strong field engaged, including The Buzzer, Amigo,. Globe Trotter, Dv Maurier, Dynasty, and Dark Eagle. The Buzzer will probably be favourite after his close second to Belle Cane in the Manawatu Cup, but Globe Trotter, winner of last year's Wairarapa Cup and from
