WAR CLAIMS FOR LIFE ASSURANCE.
Addressing members of the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia in Melbourne, the chairman, Sir Harold Luxton, mentioned the growth of the assurance funds, the continued reduction in expense rates, and the strong support given to war.loans by the association. -~,«_* ' •«. Sir Harold Luxton said that apart from policies issued in Great Britain, the war had practically no direct effect on claims during the year. In Great Britain, up to the v close of the year, there had been nearly 100 death claims on the association due to war, the large maiority arising from deaths at sea on. vessels of the Mercantile Marine.
