ITALIAN MUCH GREATER

LONDON, December 28,

A Royal Air Force spokesman at Athens said that 50 Italian planes have been definitely destroyed since the outbreak of the war between Italy and Greece and 16 probably destroyed. The R.A.F. has lost eight bombers and four fighters. The R.A.F. has carried out 70 raids in the worst flying conditions in Europe.

It was announced in London yesterday that 31 Italian aircraft, comprising 10 over Greece and 21 over the African fronts, were definitely destroyed by the R.A.F. in the week ended on Christmas Day, compared with the loss of seven British machines. The total number of Italian planes destroyed to that date was 416, compared with 75 British.
