NEW U.S.A. BUDGET
WASHINGTON, December 28.
It is authoritatively stated that President Roosevelt has drafted a 17,000,000,000-dollar Budget for the coming fiscal year, including a 10,000,000,000-dollar armament programme.
President Roosevelt will appear personally to give a message to the joint session of Congress on January 6, and the Budget will be submitted on January 7.
American aid to Britain have aroused alarm in the Axis capitals. Rome newspapers quote reports from Germany which express concern over the prospect. The Germans, indeed, have gone so far as to warn the United States that the delivery of supplies in American ships to Eire will be considered a violation of American neutrality.
