NEGRO WANTS RETURN BOUT

PALMERSTON N., This Day.
Although a full count of the takings at the Strickland-Alabama Kid. boxing match has not yet been made owing to the banks being closed, it is believed that the sum will constitute a Dominion record for such a fixture. The previous record was when Sarron and Donovan fought at the Kilbirnie Stadium in Wellington and the takings were over £2300.
Both contestants were fit yesterday morning, although Strickland had a slight soreness about the left eye and a strained muscle in his back. Alabama Kid had a pain in his right ear where Strickland caught him twice.
Alabama Kid wants to meet Strickland again to see if he can turn the tables! He believes that he can.
