POLISH CITIZENSHIP
ABOLISHED BY NAZIS
ECONOMIC DISCRIMINATION
LONDON, December 27
From Poland comes news that the Germans have abolished Polish citizenship. It is stated that former Polish subjects who are able to prove their German origin will obtain German citizenship. Poles and others not of German race will be allowed to apply for the status "people under German protection." Discrimination against the Poles also takes an economic form, It is announced that German settlers in Poland are to receive special rebates in income tax,, as well as in industrial and real estate duty, which means that many of them will have their taxes halved. The object is to oust Poles from business and commercial life in their native country.
Meanwhile, exiled Poles in Britain celebrated today the liberation, of the western part of Poland from the German yoke 21 years ago. General Sikorsky sent a message in which he recalled how quickly the German tyranny was thrown off in 1919, and said: "So it will.be in this war."
