NORWEGIAN SABOTAGE

QUISLING REGIME

EVEN CHILDREN HELPING

LONDON, December 27,

Norwegian patriots have found a new way of sabotaging supporters of the Quisling regime at public meetings. Reports state that speakers, on leaving poorly-attended public meetings, find the petrol tanks of their cars emptied, their tyres deflated, and the word "traitors" scrawled across their cars. Their bodyguards are beaten up by groups lying in wait in the darkness. In Oslo recently the police had to be called in to a lecture in which new German plans for schools were being explained. The hostile audience continually heckled the speaker and told him to stick to education and not talk politics. When he tried to explain the German conception of justice and freedom, a woman teacher in the audience shouted, "Give us freedom of the Press."

Even Norwegian school children are playing an effective part in the campaign. The children of one village school played a trick on the police. When the police visited the school and demanded the names of the culprits, all the children stood up. Eight children were selected and told to report to the police. Next day the whole school presented themselves. The general opposition to the Quislingites and the Germans is showing itself more and more openly. Organisers of workers in Oslo have circularised strong protests against the dismissal of trade union officials, and the Norwegian Medical Association has published a unanimous protest against an effort to form a special Nazi medical guild. , . . It is reported that several mysterious fires occurred in Norway during the Christmas holidays. No explanation has been given.
