CLEANING UP
BRITISH UNITS
PRISONERS BEING TAKEN TO
PALESTINE
LONDON, December 22,
The latest news about the fighting in North Africa comes in today's communique from British G.H.Q., Cairo. It says: "Reinforcements from Egypt are steadily reaching our troops in the Bardia area. Seven more guns have been collected from the enemy frontier posts which we recently occupied.! On other fronts the situation remains unchanged." Other messages from Cairo say • that British mechanised units are still cleaning up the area north-west of Bardia. They are destroying odd pockets where the Italians are still; putting up resistance, and are making sure that Marshal Graziani will not be able to reinforce the garrison at Bardia. i Some of the thousands of Italian | prisoners have been taken to Pales-1 tine, where a special camp has been J built in the central Judean plain. Two thousand prisoners arrived there yesterday.
