SOUTHERN PRODUCE MARKETS

(By l'elegraph—l'icss- Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. December 20,

Business in grain and produce markets has practically ceased for the year and little activity is to be expected till the new season's crops begin to make their appearance. A few oat crops have been harvested already, but nothing has appeared in the markets. There are reported to be fair stocks of oats still on hand from last year. In most other lines, with the exception of cowgrass, stocks are light, and little of'good quality is obtainable. The season promises to bring heavy yields of small seeds, which will arrive to markets that are comfortably bare. Cocksfoot crops are reported to be very light.
