The Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser), accompanied by the Minister of Labour (Mr. Webb), left by air for the West Coast of the South Island this morning. He will return to Wellington tomorrow.
Mr. E. Caradus, senior inspector of secondary schools and director of educational services, Royal New Zealand Air Force, returned to. Wellington today from Auckland.
Mr. M. J. Reardon. left Wellington today for Hamilton. .
Mr. H. H. Sterling, liaison officer to the Minister for National Service -and Repatriation, is visiting the South Island.
Sir Joseph Ward has been appointed honorary Consul for Belgium at Christchurch.
Mr. A. S. Elworthy, chairman of the committee of the Canterbury Joekeyv Club, who has been visiting the North •Island, has returned to his home.
Dr. J. V. Cable, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Cable, Hataitai, Wellington, who has been serving in London and Midlands hospitals for the last five years, has left Wellington for the south to take up his new duties as assistant superintendent of the Dunedin Hospital.
Mr. J. M. Murray, who has, been secretary of the Yorkshire Society since 1933, is leaving Wellington to take up residence in the South Island. At a meeting of the society last night Mr. Murray was made a life member, and was presented with a silver cigaretta case in recognition of his services.
