PENSION PAYMENTS
FROM DECEMBER 20 A rearrangement of staff- routine of the Social Security Department will enable war pensioners and Social Security beneficiaries to receive their pensions and benefits before the Christmas holidays. The Minister of Social Security (Mr. Parry) stated today that it had been decided to make war pensions, war veterans' allowances, and Social Security benefits (other than sickness and unemployment benefits) available for collection on or after Friday, December 20. Unemployment and sickness benefits for the weeks ended December 21, December 28, and January 4 would be paid in one amount in the week ending December 21.
