COLLEGE BOYS' CONCERT
Boys from Wellington College monopolised the stage in the Town Hall Concert Chamber last night, and their parents and friends occupied all the seats' in the auditorium, the occasion being the School concert. Conducted by Mr. E. Meier, the school orchestra showed its efficiency in playing the "Tannhauser" March as an opening number. The Pipe Band also played a number of Scottish airs. Piano items were contributed by P. J H. Gilchrist and R. Vance, and vocal numbers by J. D. Craig and memb:^s of the Glee Club. Recitations by K. H. Dudson and M. D. Cox, dancing by R. G. Wilson, a display of fencing and of physical drill and gymnastics, and a violin and viola duet by Mr. Meier and G. Weston were included in a programme of considerable and entertaining variety. The concluding item was an excerpt from Oscar Wildes amusing play "The Importance of Being Earnest." This was produced by Mr A. N. Alcorn, the various parts being very capably played by him, J. D. Pottinger, R. M. Campion, E. J. Quinn, and P. L. Allwright.
