FRIEDMAN PIANO RECITAL

Tonight's piano recital by Ignaz Friedman, the Polish pianist at the Town Hall promises to be one of the musical red-letter events of 1940. The programme is one of outstanding interest. It includes masterpieces of Bach Beethoven, and Chopin. Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Lord Galway will be present. Judging by the booking a very large audience will greet the visiting pianist on his first public appearance of this, his second New Zealand tour. All proceeds are being devoted to the patriotic funds, and there are plenty of seats available for last-minute patrons. The box plan is at the D.I.C.
