(Special to the "Evening Post.") — DUNEDIN, This Day. The fifth day of the Baptist Assembly commenced with the preaching of the missionary sermon by the Rev. C. B. Boggis, of Auckland. The annual | report of the Baptist Missionary • Society was moved by the Rev. H. H. Driver. In spite of the many difficulties confronting missionaries at the pre« sent time new ground was occupied, it was stated. Gratitude was expressed at the assistance rendered by Dr. Daintree. The financial report was presented by the Rev. P. F. Lanyon, who spoke of the spirit of sacrifice which the missionary contributions represented. In the evening a missionary rally was held when addresses were given by Baptist missionaries from East Bengal.

Tuesday was devoted to the election, of officers. Mr. H. T. Falla, of Linwood, Christchurch, was unanimously appointed vice-president of the union. Other appointments were as follows:— Secretary and treasurer, the Rev. P. F. Lanyon; union preacher for 1941, the Rev. J. T. Crozier; editor of "N.Z. Baptist," Dr. J. J. North; union council, the Revs. R. L. Fursdon, C. W. Duncumb, P. F. Lanyon, D. H. Stewart, E. T. Jones, F. L. Smart, J. E. Simpson, Dr. J. J. North, Messrs. C. Collins, W. A. Kendon, W. H. Newton, W. Carey, C. J. Darracott, H. Ormrod, H. Hayward, H. T. Falla, and the Revs. A. Anstice, E. W. Batts, C. B. Boggis, H. E. Edridge, E. Nicholls, L. A. North, A. L. Silcock, L. J. B. Smith, N. R.
