The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P> Fraser) left last night to fulfil his engagements in Christchurch. He is expected to return to Wellington at the weekend.
The Minister of Marine (the Hon. Dr. D. G. McMillan) returned to Wellington from the south this morning.
Mr. C. M. A. Kebbell, of Pohangina, was appointed lay secretary by the Anglican Diocesan V: Synod, yesterdayafternoon to succeed the Rev. M. Crompton-Smith, who, on his ordination, became assistant curate of Khandallah.
Mr. A. Kirk, East Coast, was yesterday elected president of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, succeeding Mr. W, J. Gaudin, of Wellington, who this year has been elected a vice-president. Mr. R. J; Hobbs, of Wellington, was also elected a vicepresident.
Mr. A. G. Henderson and Mr. J. G. Shirtcliffe were re-elected members of the Pension Fund Trust Board by the Anglican Diocesan Synod yesterday afternoon. - Mr. E. L. Riddiford, of Orongorongo, and Mr. W. F. Hogg, of Wellington, retiring trustee members of the Samuel Marsden Collegiate Trust Board, were reappointed by the Anglican Diocesan Synod yesterday afternoon. Dr. C. Gordon Kemp has returned to Wellington from a visit to Marton. Major J. Abel, honorary organiser of the £1,000,000 patriotic campaign, returned from the Nelson Province by plane today. Mr. H. C. Mclntyre, managing director for Australia and New Zealand of Universal Films, arrived in Auckland yesterday from Australia and, accompanied by Mr. W. A. .Hislop, general manager for New Zealand lor Universal Films, reached Wellington today.
