IN HOROWHENUA
Cricket in Horowhenua last season was sadly handicapped by the petrol restrictions. This season it will haye the same disadvantage with an added one in many promising cricketers being away with the Forces. Six clubs have, however, entered for the coming season, Levin (last year's champions), Weraroa, Levin Old Boys, Air Force (from the Weraroa Training School), Shannon, and Te Horo. The teams in most instances will comprise men beyond military age and college boys. The season was to open today. Conditions for the matches provide for the side scoring the greater number of runs in the allotted time to be declared the winner.
