ECONOMIC CONFERENCE

GENERAL COMMITTEE SET UP

FULL EXAMINATION TO BE MADE

The-Economic Conference called by the Government set up a general working committee last night, consisting of seven representatives of the employers, seven representatives of the New: Zealand Federation of Labour and trade unions, and with the Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) as chairman. Mr. A. T. Donnelly (chairman of directors of the Bank of New Zealand) is to act as deputy-chairman. This general committee is to examine all matters raised at the conference, and any other matters relevant to the purpose for which the conference was called, as fully and effectually as possible. Its deliberations or those of any sub-committees it may set up will not be open to the Press. The general committee is to report its findings to the full conference later, and this is not . expected to be before next week: The other members of the committee are .-—Employers: Messrs. W. W.
