REINSTATEMENT OF MEN
FROM FORCES
A question concerning the occupational provisions of the Emergency Regulations as they affected men discharged from the Forces and their employers was raised by the Rev. F. L. Frost (Government, New Plymouth) in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon in an urgent question to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser). Mr. Frost instanced the case of a man discharged after two months in the Forces because of foot trouble. When he applied to the employer for reinstatement his position had been filled and the employer refused to discharge the new occupant in the job.
Mr. Fraser said that the case mentioned was being investigated. The new regulations required employers to reinstate men, and compliance with these regulations would be insisted uoon.
