WORK AT MIRAMAR

INTIMATION TO MEN

An intimation that the Waterfront Control Commission would take action against them if necessary was given last week to waterside workers who had indicated that they did not want to work a collier lying at Miramar for extended hours beyond the time customary for many years. The extended hours were observed.

There are certain difficulties to be overcome at Miramar, an isolated wharf where the provision of meals and accommodation for eating them is concerned. Arrangements are being made to provide suitable facilities for the men when they are required to work extra time.
