TAXES AND MAN-POWER
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l notice in Mr. Nash's Budget there is no mention of the parents or wives of those sons and husbands who have nobly volunteered for service being exempt from any taxation. I think those that have neither kith nor kin serving and who are living in New Zealand their same old lives and hardly knowing a war is on shouldhave to shoulder some of the taxes from those that have so nobly given in "man-power.—l am, etc., N.Z.
