PAST TRENTHAM WINNER
Blue Tiger, who figures in both the Mariri Hack Steeples and the Trentham Hurdles on the opening day of the Wellington Meeting next week, is no newcomer to Trentham. Three winters ago he ran second to Donegal in the Vittoria Hurdles on the first day and then won the Corunna Hurdles and the Talavera Hurdles on the concluding days.
Thi3 half-brother to Tiger Gain is now nine years old, but he has already shown form this winter, as he was winner of the Rangatira Hurdles at Manawatu in May, when the field he beat included Soho, Curie, Hunting Lore, and Charade. In one start since he finished fourth in. the Wanganui Century Hurdles after drifting in the early stages. He is also not a novice at the country game, if he should take on the steeples, as, first time up in the role, he won the Dannevirke Hunt Cup Steeples last winter.
