Three prints by* Mr. H. J. Schmidt, a well-known Auckland photographer, have been accepted for an important photographic competition recently held in Boston. Two of the entries were awarded' honourable mention. Mr. Schmidt has been informed that 4800 prints were received from 727 competitors in all parts of the world, but only 400 were accepted. The collection is to be shown throughout the United States.
