The Defence Minister, Mr. N. McL. Rogers, and three airmen were killed in an aeroplane crash. Mr. Rogers was flying in an Air Force plane to Toronto from Ottawa to speak at a luncheon. The plane crashed and burst into flames near Newtonville, Ontario, in attempting to make an emergency landing.
Mr Norman McLeod Rogers, P.C., M.P., 8.A., M.A., B.Litt, 8.C.L., LL.D., was appointed Minister of Defence in Canada last year. He was born in Nova Scotia in July, 1894. He was granted a Rhodes Scholarship in 1919 after having served overseas in the
