GERMAN CLAIMS
ACTIVITY NEAR COAST
(Received May 23, 1 p.m.) LONDON, May 22. The German High Command states: "An Allied cruiser, a merchantman, and a transport were destroyed near the French and Belgian coasts. Two U-boats sank a French Channel steamer. "The Allies lost 120 planes yesterday and ten German planes are missing. Allied planes flew over west Germany but dropped their bombs at random and failed to hit military objectives. Two Allied planes were brought down."
