McCREADY v. CORBETT.
Earl McCready, the British Empire professional heavyweight wrestling champion, has arrived back in New Zealand and will make his first Wellington appearance of the season at the Town Hall on Monday night, when he will meet Joe Corbett, the handsome matman from Boston. McCready has won fresh laurels while he has been overseas during the off-season, and his ability was so well appreciated by Jim Londos, for one, that the world title match sought by McCready against the Greek did not eventuate, the latter keeping out of the way. Fit as the proverbial fiddle and at the peak of his career, McCready will be better than ever to watch this year. Corbett, who is not only stalwart but also highly skilled, is an ideal opponent for the Canadian, and there is no doubt that he will make the exchanges more than interesting. Preliminaries, including a five-round professional bout, will commence at 8 o'clock.
