BOOK IMPORTS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l should like to remind "Reader" that my letter was written in the capacity Of hon. secretary of the New Zealand Library Association and that the question involves not any. one library exclusively, but hundreds of public libraries throughout the country. Clearly lißeader" was previously unaware of the fact that public libraries are now permitted to import their non-fiction requirements, and his first letter therefore misstated the position to that extent. I recommend -Reader" to continue to use his public library wherever he may r-eside—the librarian will always be pleased to receive suggestions of additions to the library—and further to ask his bookseller -to indent for him the books needed'for the home browsing shelf. I shall be surprised if the bookseller refuses the order.—l am, etc.,
JOS. NORRIE, Hon. Secretary,. New Zealand Library Association.
