ASSAULTED HIS WIFE
A sentence of one month's Imprisonment with hard labour was imposed by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday upon William Robertson Hislop, 21, a labourer, who pleaded not guilty to, but was convict?d of, assaulting his wife, Amy Louisa tfislop, in the early hours of this morning. Mrs. Hislop said her .husband struck her, but he denied this. He admitted in cross-examination that he had previously been convicted of assaulting his wife. " . ' ■
