Bridge Party Tomorrow Night,

Strong committees are working on behalf of the Britannia Sea Scouts and their drive for funds. The many friends who have been invited to the bridge party* in connection with the queen carnival are reminded that this function will take place in the Englishspeaking Union Rooms, Nathan's Buildings, tomorrow evening, at 8 o'clock. Berhampore Free Kindergarten. The local committee of the Berhampore Free Kindergarten is organising a social and sports club and wishes to call attention to the fact that the club is its first meeting tomorrow evening in-the kindergarten hall. All interested or any intending members' are invited to be present at the opening ceremony, when full details of the activities and objects of the club will be given. A Bridge Party. A very successful party was held recently at the combined flats of Miss E. Grady and Mrs. Howard Hill, The Terrace, in aid of the Kelburn-North-land branch of the Women's National Reserve. There was a very good attendance and cheery fires and lovely flowers made a pleasant contrast to the stormy conditions outside. Those who made up tables were Mesdames Dunn, Wrigley, Hilliker, Bradley, Fyfe, Gerrard, Knox, Watt, Butler, Grady, and Hill. Prizes were won by Mesdames Searel, Fyfe, and Carey. There were also two competitions, the lucky winners being Mrs. Wrigley and Mr. C. J. Choat. Supper was served. Studio Dance on Saturday. A studio dance giver, by the Southern Colledge Studios on Saturday evening was attended by a large number of young people. Mr Alex Thomson made a most efficient M.C. Music was supplied by a first-class dance band and party dances and amusing novelty dances, for which prizes were given, added to the gaiety of the evening. A savoury supper was served in the supper room. Friends Give Bridal Showers. Prior to her recent wedding Mrs. C. H. S. Gyles (formerly Miss Ina Small) was guest of honour at several parties given, by her friends. Mrs. K. White, assisted by her mother. Mrs. C. Binning, and Mrs. F. Keir, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Norman Duncan, were among those who . entertained. Mrs. S. McEwan and Miss J. Burns were also hostesses, and the bride received many useful and artistic gifts. ,
