MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE

OAMARU, March 15.
Expressing / disappointment at' the municipal conference held- recently in Wellington, the Mayor of Oama'ru, Mr. K. Familton, referred to it at the Borough Council meeting as a glorified bylaws committee with no broad policy. He thought the "association should take a more paternal and less technical interest in cities ancl boroughs and alter the procedure of. the conference to give a wider outlook.
