LONDON, February 23.

The wedding took place quietly at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Plymouth, on February 20, of Miss Margaret Ellen Malfroy (Wellington) and Surgeon Lieut-Commander Alexander James Burden, of H.M.S. Ajax. Canon J. M. Ryan officiated, and the service was attended by a number of officers of the Ajax and the Exeter, including Captain C. H. L. Woodhouse. <■

The bride is the younger' daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Malfroy, Wellington, and the bridegroom the eldest son. of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Burden, of Kilkenny, Ireland. Lieut.-, Commander P. R. S. Pennefather was best man, and Burgeon-Lieutenant W. J. Latham was the usher.

The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. J. O. J. Malfroy, lecturer in law at Cambridge University. She was a dainty, petite figure in a twopiece suit of jpowder-blue cloth. The coat had high shoulders, with a fitted waist and flared skirt. Her small toque was of navy blue georgette, which matched her shoes, handbag, and gloves,' and in her corsage she wore a spray of lilies of the valley. The bride and bridegroom left the Cathedral after the ceremony under an archway of crossed swords held by about two dozen of the bridegroom's brother officers. The reception which followed was in the captain's cabin on board H.M.S.- Ajax. Mr. Malfroy proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, and the bridegroom replied. . ~....-. When the newly-married, couple left the ship their car was pulled away by 16 ratings who attached fieldgun ropes to it.- Mrs. Burden will make her home in London for the time being.
