.LONDON, March 14. The latest decree issued by FieldMarshal Goering requests Germans to give Herr Hitler old metal for his fifty-first birthday so as to replenish supplies of war materials. Italy is also scouring her cities for scrap iron, and all iron railings in Rome are being taken down. The Berlin police are confiscating all astrological calendars because too many people see in the stars predictions of drastic developments and disturbing occurrences in Germany in 1940.
