LUCK WITH THE WEATHER

"Trentham luck" held for the opening day of the Wellington Racing Club's Centennial Autumn Meeting yesterday, and there was a larger attendance than was anticipated by the club. The grounds and track were in excellent order, though the going was not as fast as it has often. been at this meeting. , The turnover for the day was £54,524 10s (£24,371 10s win, £30,153 place), compared with £49,190 10s (£21,351 10s win, £27,839 place) on the first day last year, an increase of £5334.
