HUTT HIGH SCHOOL

Contrary to the experience of other secondary schools, the principal of the Hutt Valley High School (Mr. J. N. Millard) reported to the Board. of Governors last night that the enrolment of girls had been higher than for the boys, the new enrolments being 93 boys and 102 girls. The roll now stood at 523 as against 522 last year. Mr. Frank A. Feist gave two guineas towards the school band, remarking that the band had given Mrs. Feist considerable pleasure when it played in Woburn Road. The Shaw Savill Company wrote, donating to the school a copy of its book, "The Flag of the Southern Cross," giving the history of the company since its inception in 1858. Mr. D. A. Ewen presided over the meeting.
