Retaining a purse left behind by a lady customer in a Lower Hutt fruit shop in which he was serving, Ngan Yue Cheung faced a charge of theft when he appeared before Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., in the Lower Hutt Court yesterday. The money was ordered to be refunded, and the defendant was admitted to probation for twelve months.
