Two sires who have been very profitable following at Trentharn in recent years are Beau Pere and Hunting Song.' Beau Pere particularly has built up an extraordinary record on tjie course, especially - with his juveniles, during the three seasons in which he has been represented on the Turf. At the Wellington Centennial Meeting ao fewer than six of the 24 races were won by the Beau Peres, the winners being Sir Beau (twice), Beau Vite, Beau Repaire, Arvakur, and Millament.
The Hunting Songs are better horses for the winter and spring fixtures, and this sire's only winner at the l'ecent meeting was Raana. Next after Beau Pere came Winning Hit, who gained four successes through the double wins of Haughty Winner and Not Out. Three successes went to Siegfried, with Old Bill, Lockit, and The Ring, and also to Defoe, with Lady Tinkle (twice) and Sir Crusoe.
