The three German planes which flew high over the Shetland Islands this morning aimed three bombs at a steamer and two at a trawler, both off the Shetlands. All missed. The enemy planes then traversed the islands for two hours, dropping four bombs on the moorland without causing damage. )

The Air Ministry announced that the enemy, aircraft attacked with bombs a cargo vessel off the Shetlands and later dropped bombs which fell upon the moorland and did no material damage. Fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force were dispatched, but the enemy, taking refuge in the prevailing low clouds; made their escape.
