A Picnic Meeting. A picnic, combined with-their meet--ing, was held at' the Khandallafr R.e> serve by the Newlands branch-of the Women's Institute. Mrs. Kettlewell presided and.welcomed Miss Maddever, who gave a delightful talk on her travels abroad. Competition winners were Mrs. Earl (2), Mrs. Knight, and Mrs. Pritchard. Parties for Bride-Elect. . An enjoyable afternoon party was given recently in honour of Miss Joyce Ryley, whose marriage to Mr. Max Futter will shortly take place.' The hostesses were Mrs. Chas. Minifie and. Mrs. Lou Suridge. The bride-elect was the recipient of many .useful, kitchen gifts. Among those present were Mesdames Minifie, Suridge) Donsldson, Futter. Wylie,1 Ratliffe, Russell, Cooke, and Misses Ruby; Ryley, Betty 'McCarthy, Ena Futter, Bunty/ :Hutiter, Edna^ Gooch, Jean Beveridge, "Doreeft Abbott, and Beryl Isherwpod.
