GIBSON—ESHER

The wedding was solemnised recently at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul by Canon D. J. Davies, of Dorothy Esher, only daughter of Mrs. C. Wilkins, Plimmerton, and Albert, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Gibson, South Canterbury. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. A. Denholm, a friend of the family, looked charming in a frock of white angelskin brocade, cut on fitting lines with high neckline and a slight train. Her tulle veil was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white Christmas lilies. The bridesmaid was Miss Jean Spurway, cousin of the bride, whose frock of summersea satin sheer was cut on similar lines to that worn by the bride. Her matching short tulle yeil was held in place with a coronet of flowers, and she carried a sheaf of apricot gladioli and roses. , The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ted Fullarton as best man, and Messrs. R. A. Collie and N. Mathewson were ushers. On leaving the church Master Barry Denholm presented the bride with a lucky horseshoe. A reception was held at the Mayfair Cabaret, the guests being received by Mrs. Wilkins, who was wearing a navy floral ensemble, with navy hat, and a shoulder spray of pale pink rosebuds, and Mrs. Gibson, who was wearing a black silk floral frock, black coat and accessories, and a shoulder spray of scarlet roses. Mrs. T. Farcy sang two delightful solos, and Mr. Ken Fish was an able toastmaster. When Mr. and Mrs. Gibson left for the south, the bride was wearing a light blue tailored suit, with navy straw hat, navy accessories, and a smart fur, the gift of the bridegroom.

An excellent way of keeping table silver and cutlery is to have a wooden rest which keeps each piece in place with no danger ,of scratching, and which can be lifted easily out of the drawer. Keep covered with a baize cloth or plate-duster.
