St. Peter's Anglican Church, Ghuznee Street, was the. scene of the wedding recently of Dorothy Jane Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. W. Spinks, of Dunedin, and Bernard Ernest, youngest son of the/late Mr. Mark Webb, Bury St. Edmund's, England, and Mrs. Maud Elsmore, Petone, The Yen. Archdeacon Bullock performed the ceremony, and Mr. S. B. Short officiated at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore, a charming gown of eggshell embossed heavy satin, cut on classical lines, with high neckline relieved by a triple string of pearls. The long tight-fitting sleeves had full shoulder lines, and from the waistline at the back fell a graceful train. A circular embroidered veil, worn over the face, was arranged from a coronet of lilies and orange blossom, and fell to form a second train. A sheaf of Christmas lilies was carried.

There were two bridesmaids, / the Misses Barbara and Jessie Hogg, and their frocks were of romance blue, and cyclamen pink taffeta, with heartshaped necklines and very full skirts. They wore net hats trimmed with ribbon and mittens matching the shade of their frocks. The little flowergirl, Valmay Fredericks, wore an anklelength frock of lavender taffeta. She wore a flower-trimmed net halo and silk gloves to tone, and carried a basket of flowers.

Mr. J. Webb, the bridegroom's brother, was best man, and Mr. J. Dale was groomsman.

During the signing of the -register, Mrs. Walter Duncan sang "O Perfect Love." On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a horse-shoe by the flower:girl.

Nearly 100 guests attended the reception which was held in the Englishspeaking Union Rooms, Grey Street, Items were given by Mrs. W. Duncan, Mrs. Palmer, Miss V. Roberts, and, Mr. L. Bent. An incident which gave much pleasure occurred when the bridegroom was unexpectedly asked to sing for the guests, accompanied by the bride. Mr. J. Todd McCaw was master of ceremonies, and Mr. Frank Crowther was at the piano. The bride's step-mother wore a frock of black silk relieved with white, with a matching hat, and the bridegroom's mother was in a smart black and white ensemble. Both carried bouquets in red tonings.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb later left for a motor tour of the north, the bride's travelling ensemble being in a soft shade of f blue, with cyclamen accessories and sable fox furs.
