CAR COLLISION
HAIRDRESSER FINED £30
James Moloney, a (hairdresser, appeared on remand at'the Lower Hutt Court this morning on charges of being intoxicated while in charge of a car and of having no driver's licence. Mr. R. Hardie Boys, on his behalf, stated that the defendant was a married man with one child and that a business 'in Wellington was dependent on his management. He was not a motor driver and at the time of the accident must have been having a driving lesson, but owing** to his injuries he had no recollection of the circumstances. . '. t Mr. A. M. Gouiding, S.M., said he would take into consideration \ the statement of counsel and would not sentence the accused to imprisonment.
On the major charge he was fined £30 and costs and was prohibited from obtaining a licence till May, 1941. '• On the second charge he was fined £1.
