INNOCENCE AGAIN
SQUARE-BILGE RACE
Sailed by H.. Hjghet, the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club boat Innocence again showed her superiority in light weather yesterday afternoon by leading the fleet home in the race for the New Zealand 14ft square-bilge championship, after winning the Wellington championship in the morning. The Innocence took the lead early in the race. As the light southerly breeze fell towards the end of the race the other boats, the Eileen, Lois, and Putorino, caught up on her, but could not pass her, and, catching a light puff just before the finish, the Innocence crossed the line lmin 23sec ahead of the Eileen, a new, member of the Royal Port Nicholson fleet this year, with the Lois and Putorino, both of Paremata, third and fourth. There were not four minutes between first and last boats.
