THAMES MEETING
HORSES IN LIKELY FORM
(Special from "Early Bird.")
AUCKLAND, This Day
The prospects for the Thames Jockey Club's . Annual Meeting, to, be held tomorrow and on Monday, are particularly bright, with fine fields all round and the class a bit above the average, The course was being watered last week and on top of this heavy rain fell over the weekend, so that the going" should be perfect. Win-and-place betting will operate.
Most interest is centred upon the, Goldfields. Cup, a name that brings back memories to the old-timers. An excellent field of a dozen is to compete, and opinion appears to be evenly divided as to the chances of King Rey, Namara,-Suhola, Te Hai, Scotland, and Royal Tray, while there are possibilities about Bonstar and Pirate King, although the latter has yet to prove himself beyond a mile.
The following horses may be fancied:—x • ■ ■•
