Special forecast for Wellington:— Light and variable winds. Weather fine and warm.

The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole, issued at noon today lor the1 ensuing twenty-four hours, is for moderate to fresh easterly winds to the north of New Plymouth and Napier, but winds otherwise will be light to moderate in force and variable in direction. In the Auckland Province the weather will be cloudy to overcast with scattered showers, more especially in the north, but the weather elsewhere will be fair to fine. Some scattered morning jfogs are probable, and temperatures will be mild to warm. Pressure is relatively high over most of the Dominion. The weak disturbance in the far north has made but little movement, and it has resulted in moderate rain falling over the Auck- | land Peninsula and in some light f alls J in the east as far south as.Hawke's Bay. A fall of 123 points of rain is j reported from Kaipara Heads, while i Russell has had 70 points and Cape Maria Van Diemen 40 points. Elsewhere fine weather has continued, but there was some low cloud or fog this morning on the east coast of the South Island, and it is still cloudy in th- Auckland Province. Winds in most places have been light to moderate and variable. Easterly directions have predominated in the north, oand j at times winds have freshened over the Auckland Peninsula. Temperature's have been mild to warm. In Auckland yesterday a moderate i south-easterly wind changed to a fresh easterly. There were several showers during the day and the evening was squally, 25: points of rain being recorded. Temperatures, however, were mild, 69 degrees being the maximum and 62.2' degrees the minimum. The weather this morning was overcast and i there was a fresh wind blowing'from the east-north-east. Wellington had another perfect day, with over 14 hours of bright sunshine. There was a light southerly in the afternoon, but morning and evening airs were calm. Temperatures were warm the maximum and minimum being 70.6 and 56.3 degrees respectively. I It was fine and sunny again this morning, with a light northerly breeze. Apart from a little low cloud in the ; morning, Christchurch had a clear and sunny "day. The east-north-easterly wind, which was strong in the afternoon, .kept temperatures at a moderate level, 65.5 degrees being the maximum and 57.7 degrees the minimum. It had clouded over, by this morning and the wind had changed to a light 1 southerly. Dunedin's weather yesterday was also clear arid sunny,sthe wind being a light north-easterly and temperatures being mild. ' The sky was overcast this morning, however, and a light southerly wind was blowing.
