A pioneer of Stratford,' Mrs. J. Clover, who was well kijown in .Wellington, passed away recently" at Hamilton. She was the widow of the late Rev. J. Clover, the first Methodist minister of Stratford, and was present at the jubilee of the church a few n.onths ago. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bassett, arrived in' New Plymouth in 1841 on the first ship to arrive there:
