AVONDALE STAKES WINNER
The Avondale Stakes winner Lovaals was bred by her owner, Mr. B. Goldwater, who raced both her dam, Lomint. and grandam, Loloma, with success. Lovaals is the second foal of Lomint. who did not have any further progeny after producing Valmint in 1932 until she foaled Lovaals in 1937.
A- neat, compact filly. Lovaals is a chestnut daughter of Vaals. whose stock continue to do rery well, and her dam. Lomint, is by Catmint from Loloma. by Monoform from Seabird, by Ben Godfrey. It is a branch of the No. 3 family tracing to the imported mare Coronaria. by Sweetmeat. From this taproot haye descended many notable winners in New Zealand, including such as Round Up, Tigridia (G.N. Derby). Tigress (Wynganui Guineas), Tigritiya (A.R.C. Railway Handicap), Royal Bengal, Tigerism, etc.
