JUDGMENT DOING WELL

HAWERA, September 19. Though taken to Wanganui, the Appellant horse Judgment was not started. There was nothing amiss with him, and interest in him has only been deferred until he makes his reappearance, which will probably be at the Waverley Meeting next month. He was given a working gallop over half a mile at the weekend and moved quite freely. , . _, . A newcomer to Hawera tracks is Valvern a four-year-old daughter of, Vaals and Miss Alburn, who has been purchased by a patron of H. Scally s stables. Valvern came to the Combined Hunts Meeting with a bit of a reputation but did not materialise. She was responsible for a good effort over five furlongs in company with Pretty Lass at the weekend, the pair completing the journey in Imin 7£sec. Pretty Lass is looking in real nice order and can be relied on for a good showing at any time. ' , .... , . Dick Brough has an addition to his team in Sunfire, a gelding by Illumination from Lady Iti, who shaped promisingly at the recent Hunt Clubs MRepofted to be a promising sort is Houhou Ra, a three-year-old halfbrotiier by Resinous Taitoru and who is being prepared by T.
