STOCK EXCHANpE BUSINESS The Australian Stock Exchanges at their recent conference in Melbourne considered the procedure to be followed in the event of a national emergency and. carried the following .resolution: — (a) In the event of a doubt arising as to whether war has been declared the call be suspended and inquiries made* (b)" In the ease of a major conflict the" Exchange bei closed and there be no (Official calls and no dealings in the precincts of the Exchange. ■ (c) Each Exchange to pass the necessary rule to prevent selling except by a person actually owning the shares. :;<d) Settlements to be arranged by a conference either by telephone or actual meeting. ~ . - ■;.■•, -:. (c) -Reopening to be decided by conference, ofr the, chairmen of the Exchanges.' •bailing a decision any, Exchange to'reopen after-giving seven clays'■notice. .^ \ - The Sydney Stock Exchange was closed today. ;
