The final set was an exciting struggle, the Australian hammering Parker's forehand with su cess and the latter winning points ' with superb placements. In the doubles there was little to choose • between the teams, although their styles were considerably different. Hunt and Kramer used cannonball services and were formidable in smashing from mid-court. The Australians were infinitely better at volleying. ■.:■-.•
