Friday's closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for August 4 being shown in parentheses:—
Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 5.22 d a lb (5.28 d); September delivery, 4.51 d (4.62 d).
Rubber.—Para, 7 5-8 d a lb (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet. Bid a lb (same).
Jute. —August-September shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation, £20 12s 6d a ton (£lB ss).
Linseed 0i1.—£27 5s a ton (£27) Turpentine.—32s 9d a cwt (335).
