INDIAN CRICKET
COMMENT ON M.C.C. TEAM

BOMBAY, August 3
"Indian cricket has attained such a standard that it deserves better treat-
ment," declared the president of the Indian Board of Control, in commenting on the M.C.C. team which is to tour India. He described the team as workmanlike, but not representative of English cricket.
The team was announced in a London message yesterday as follows:— E. R. T. Holmes (Surrey), captain; H. T. Bartlett (Sussex), J. M. Brocklebank (Cambridge University), S. C. Griffith (Sussex), J. H. Human (Middlesex), R. E. S. Wyatt (Warwickshire), E. Davies (Glamorgan), H. E. Dollery (Warwickshire), H. Gimblett (Somerset), James Langridge (Sussex), John Langridge (Sussex), G. S. Mobey (Surrey). M. S. Nichols (Essex), T. P. B. Smith (Essex), A. W. Wellard (Somerset), and J. F. Parker (Surrey).
